Introduction to Sherpa Language

Sherpa, an official language of Sikkim since 1995, represents one of the indigenous communities in the region. Introduced into the school curriculum in 2002 and affiliated with CBSE in 2015, Sherpa is not only spoken in Sikkim but also in parts of West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh, with approximately 45,000 native speakers in Sikkim alone.
